"The Miami Dolphins season is falling apart, and the team could trade superstar offensive tackle Terron Armstead and embrace a youth movement.

The 2024 season has gone from bad to worse for the Miami Dolphins, and the one-time Super Bowl hopefuls could trade star offensive tackle Terron Armstead if the season continues to go off the rails. A five-time Pro Bowler, Armstead joined the Dolphins in 2022 after establishing himself as one of the game’s elite tackles during his first nine seasons with the New Orleans Saints. While he’s now playing in his age-33 season, he remains one of the best in the game. According to Pro Football Focus, Armstead’s 84.5 grade ranked seventh out of 77 eligible players.

Terron Armstead is great, and one of the only players on the Dolphins who could fetch a decent return in a trade. With Tyreek Hill, Jalen Ramsey, and Jaylen Waddle all signing massive extensions, Armstead is the only big-name player who could be traded without bringing about financial ruin. Armstead doesn’t have guaranteed money beyond 2024, so the team could send him to the New Orleans Saints or the Kansas City Chiefs if they continue to lose without Tua Tagovailoa.

More Help For Mahomes
The Kansas City Chiefs may have dodged a bullet with the Rashee Rice injury, but the wide receiver will still likely miss a sizable portion of the season. This minimizes their need for another wide receiver, which could help the team focus on the glaring issue at tackle. Second-round pick Kingsley Sauamatia might be the long-term answer at left tackle, but the rookie isn’t ready for starting duties against NFL competition. Wanya Morris isn’t an active liability, but the Chiefs could land a superstar if they trade for Terron Armstead.

As things currently stand, the Chiefs have the best interior offensive line in football. However, anyone who watched the 2020 Super Bowl knows just how important good tackle play can be. Right tackle Jawaan Taylor is too expensive to bench, so both tackle positions are areas of concern for Kansas City. Executing a Terron Armstead trade would solidify the left tackle spot, leaving the Chiefs with Pro Bowl-caliber players at four of the five offensive line positions. Elite protection like this should allow Patrick Mahomes to survey the field and compensate for his injured receivers."

I'm sure this is all click bait and such but the author does bring up good points about needing to get some cap space, picks while getting younger as the phins. Phins did draft a LT in the 2nd round and he is sitting behind Armstead SO they might want to see what they have in him the remaining season /shrug.

Armstead is currently ranked as the #1 LT in the NFL! this would be a HUGE get for us and allow our young LTs to learn and sit while Armstead locks down that LT spot for the next couple of years!

Armstead cost to Chiefs:
ROS: About $1.355M at deadline
2025: $14.3M
2026: $14.33M

ALSO don't forget that Armstead has ZERO guarantees after this season! Even though the $14M cap hit isn't bad if you ask me.

I agree on the younger LTs but if ever there was a time for a short term bandaid at LT its when you are going for the first ever Threepeat!

The #1 ranked LT would be a huge addition in a crucial season, especially with deficiencies at WR. If he gets injured, we have the youngins to fill in for a game or two.
