Nzoner's Game Room>Do We Really Want To Go Undefeated?
Easy 6 03:27 PM Today
Can't wait to get crushed for this opinion, but it just feels like asking for an undefeated season while chasing a threepeat is bad juju... its asking for too much IMO

I'd much rather we lose a game or two just to keep everyone frosty, to remind them that yes they can be beaten if they're not playing their best ball... look no further than the Patriots undefeated season to see what can happen when a team sniffs too many of its own farts

I don't want to meet Detroit in the Super Bowl with our heads in the clouds

Maybe I'm just being superstitious, maybe not... what say you?

And of course that's when Spags turns up the pressure, and Brady got sacked a few times after that and threw a pick.

I guess you could say they lost focus in the 2nd half? ....but then they wouldn't have done so had they lose earlier in the season? :-) Seems silly.

If anything, I'd say they folded under the pressure of an undefeated season becoming a little more real in the 2nd half, and there's nothing indicating Mahomes would do that.
Wasn't that also a game where Spagnuolo brilliantly put a guy up sending fake defensive signals, so the patriots were stealing the wrong defensive play calls?

We haven't lost since last Christmas. That would be like 25 straight if we win the SB. How could that even happen. History says no way.

Any team that has attempted anything like this in my memory (the 2007 Patriots or the 2016 Warriors) failed in the playoffs and nobody cared about those seasons in the end. I’m certainly wary about the Chiefs exerting the effort to try for something like this.

It’s too early to worry about such things (we need to see if we can beat the Bills for once in a regular season game to see if this is even realistic), but a loss near the end of the season wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.

Not if an undefeated season is on the line.

Not even halfway there yet though so this is a “problem” we don’t have to think about for a few months.

I've heard some Pats fans say they were playing sloppy football down the stretch and they could see it coming. I dont know how much truth there is about that specific team, but I do know teams lose focus and their edge somewhere throughout the season, it just happens.

One Lombardi is just as good as any other Lombardi. It's not like the '72 Dolphins got a bigger, gold plated one because they didn't lose any games. And outside of a handful of geriatric old farts who gather every year to celebrate that last loss by... whoever, no one gives a shit. When I think 70s Super Bowls, I immediately think of Pittsburgh, not Miami. That's what winning four of them gets you.

1) Make the tournament
2) Get a bye, if possible
3) Win games in playoffs
4) Stay/get as healthy as possible throughout.

Those are the goals.
