First - I am writing this without having watched - only listened to half of the 2nd quarter and half of the 3rd. Had to go on an airport run.
Second - we were going to lose at some point, we were fortunate our first loss wasn't last week, yes we made a play at the end of the game but the odds of a FG block ar astronomical. Unfortunate that the first loss comes against Buffalo but we still hold a one game lead against them for the #1 Seed. Buffalo still has to play the 49ers and the Lions of which could be at least one loss. Our schedule is much easier as far as opponents I am concerned with only Denver and the Steelers. I would rather lose to Buffalo now than in the playoffs.
The INT by Pat was just horrible. I get the pocket was collapsing around him but he needs to get better about air mailing passes. Have seen too many of those in the past couple of weeks. Glad to see the rest of the game wasn't
Worthy was the entire first scoring drive (except the Mike Caliendo for 5 yards :-)). It was almost as if the Chiefs decided to showcase the WR Buffalo traded to them. What a great drive for Worthy 4 receptions for 61 yards and a TD.
Noah Gray with his first multi touchdown game. Hendershot with another catch. I feel like he has made more of a difference with this offense than Wiley has.
The Defense seems to want to blitz Allen from the right side forcing him to his right, which is a huge mistake. Allen can make all the throws rolling to his right. Gotta find the way to pressure him and force him to the left.
N. Johnson got picked on quite a bit today but he managed to have a decent game despite this. The more experience he gets the better we will be as we approach the playoffs. Tied for team lead in tackles with 8 (Connor).
Connor had a great game got the timely INT on 4th down to give the ball back to the O which led to our second score. The Defense isn't getting home with 4 rushers. Hoping Omenihu is going to make more of a difference when he comes back.
Kinda felt like the Allen TD was a "let him score" situation so Pat could get the ball back and we could try again for the win with an onside kick or some other miracle play.
Juju really wasn't the impact I was hoping he would be coming back into the mix with Dhop and Kelce. Hoping Pacheco and Hunt can make us deadly in the running game. Worthy seemed to disappear after that first scoring drive. Hunt was running the ball well but for some reason we weren't using him during the two offensive series it was 16-14
First game in a long time where we lost the TOP 34:03/25:57 - still lost the TO battle 2/1
Didn't get a good look at the OL but they seemed to have done better as the game went on. The first Q was pretty shaky. [Reply]

Buffalo's defensive had the intermediate middle of the field open the whole game and we refused to send weapons there.
No misdirection as Buffalo D was just running mindlessly 100 MPH as they always do towards the first motion of the ball carrier.
No screens, No RPO's. Mcdermott defense can't stop an RPO, etc
I'm assuming since we knew this information, Andy was all over it. But, he didn't even try to take advantage of that fact. So why? Only thing I could come up with is saving his best plays and approach for when they meet in the playoffs. Which considering our history, may nor be such a bad strategy. [Reply]
This season is starting to remind me of "Major League II". We need the old Mahomes and Kelce back who will smash a Bud Light on their forehead. Not the ones traveling for tennis matches.
It seems like the Chiefs kinda sleepwalked their way to 9-0, doing just enough to get by. Maybe this the slap in the face to wake them up. They did need to lose a game before it's one and done but it's annoying that was the Bills. Now maybe everyone in the NFL media will :-) about the Chiefs and ride someone else's ass. [Reply]
Maybe just maybe Andy plans to beat the Bills in the playoffs with running Pacheco and Hunt at them and didn't want to give away the strategy in the regular season game? [Reply]

Our offense had 9 drives tonight. Managed just 3 scores. Just one score in 4 drives in the second half.
I've been saying it for awhile now, and I love great defense, but in today's NFL, you need to score points on offense to win big games. We've leaned on the defense and STs, and fortunate calls by the refs, and watched our offensive efficiency slowly decline, until the last few weeks when we needed poor coaching decisions by the opposing team to get Ws.
Well, today we finally scraped the bottom of that barrel. If we score 33% of the time, we're going to get beat by most decent teams, plain and simple.
I mean, obviously no one intended for the Chiefs to go into this season without Rice and Hollywood, or lose Pacheco to injury, but that's what happened, and just like last season, we're a popgun offense. Which is fine if they're efficient, like say scoring around 45%+ of drives. But that's not where we are. And for some reason we traded for one of the best possession WRs since Jerry Rice or Larry Fitzgerald, and we don't target him more than 3-5 times a game. We'd rather run screens to Perine, or waste targets on Watson and Hendershot.
Well, it came back to bite us finally. Fortunately, not big deal, just a regular season game, and I have little doubt we'll have the 1- or 2-seed regardless. But then we'll be playing against teams that can actually play offense and defense.
We need to get back to players over plays. We just can't afford to waste targets on PS players that may or may not execute in the playoffs.
I like your post, but if you go back and look at just how bad the D was tackling, I think you'd agree that it very much contributed to the loss. Look at Josh's TD run, that should embarrass most of the D because they pretty-much all had a shot at taking him down. But the tackling was just terrible, first contact whiffs, pretty-much all night.
One thing is for sure, the Bills wanted it more. Hell THEY covered the spread!
I just hope the Chiefs take this loss seriously instead of just moving on, they need to look at the tape and see the missed opportunities for what they were and individually decide to clean up the sloppy play, and play better next week. [Reply]

You can’t tell me that Mahomes is a better QB right now then he was 3-4 years ago. Does anybody else notice this ??? Is it the fact that Tyreek Hill is gone?? Mahomes is a top 3 QB in this league. Which is great . I’ll take it. But it’s a huge step back from what he was

This will be a good thing IMO. We needed the Raiders loss last year as fuel. This will serve the same purpose.
We will be a lot different next time. We’ll have Omenihu, Pacheco and Brown back. We have issues. The reinforcements are coming. WBF
I don’t know how much we’re holding everything back. We’ve seen Tampa and New Orleans have some success with way less so i assume they know that’s our fallback. Until then we don’t need to overrun kelce until the wheels fall off. Spags is known to experiment all season then tighten up for the playoffs.
I think the one area we maybe underappreciated because Kareem has been so terrific is that Pacheco can get more explosive plays. But more importantly he gives a lot of a boost in the passing game too. We saw how much we involved Kareem last week in the passing game even though he’s a serviceable receiver. I feel like our top priority is figuring out how to open up the passing game even if right now it means leaning into things that are a little more uncomfortable. We will eventually unlock worthy. I’d really like juju to be more in that rashee catch and run role where we work more contested intermediate throws to Hopkins. [Reply]
I see problems with the OL, DL, LB and DB. I know we all believe that this team can simply turn it on in the playoffs however sports aren't that simple. When teams can have a clean pocket by doubling Jones, the defense is going to struggle. The Bills had many 3rd and long situations that they converted which is a troubling trend for the entire season. [Reply]
