I'm admittedly not a medical profession, but unless every medical website is wrong, then you are way off base. It has been established in this thread many times that "tear" in this context is not the same as the layman's definition and that "partial tear" refers to a severe stretching. For example:

Couple years ago Von Miller went through this very same thing and had the same scope that found out he tore his ACL. In fact he’s from Texas and I’m pretty sure he went to Dallas for the scope. Might be the same Dr Rashee is going to [Reply]

With Vonn they were saying it was a partial ACL at first and he said he would need a brace but wanted to play. But with Rashee reports are saying it could be PCL, MCL, LCL. It's not just an ACL thing. [Reply]

I've literally had two partially torn ligaments, about a 40% tear, in my ankle.
You and what's his nuts keep narrowing down to just the acl. If you want to only consider that you both are correct. Acls almost always are full tears and mris are virtually flawless looking for single tears in the knee.
When possiblity of multiple ligament tears in the knee the results are much less accurate.
They are clearly worried about damage to multiple tissues which is why they aren't relying on the initial mris and waiting for swelling to go down. [Reply]
