It has been noted that teams often struggle the week after playing us because they fixate on the game against us and expend near Super Bowl levels of mental and physical energy leaving them flat and beat up after.

Week 1 Baltimore L vs KC next game LOSS

Week 2 Cincinnati L vs KC next game LOSS

Week 3 Atlanta L vs KC next game …..

With a tricky game against the Saints Atlanta could make it 3/3 for Chiefs opponents being beat in their next game. Worth tracking through the year as each team throws their best shot at us.

which is amazing considering the chiefs have played almost two seasons more of games than the worst teams in the league during the Mahomes era.

It's been 19 games total, so a season plus 2 games, but point taken.

I wonder if the effect will be the same if they win their superbowl. Still mental and emotionally spent but maybe over confident depending on the team. I think both the Bengals and ravens would have laid an egg but the falcons might have gotten a surge of needed confidence.

Thanks for starting this thread. Might be good to add who the teams were beaten by as well. Ravens losing to the Raiders and Bengals losing to the Manders really drives home the point.

2022 - 20 - (17 Regular Season Games)
2023 - 21 - (17 Regular Season Games)

Thanks and yes it’s event more notable that they haven’t been getting beat after by heavyweight contenders but by moderate at best teams.

That said the Commanders can have play off potential if Daniels can keep up his week 3 level consistently.

I just hope Andy D tosses a 3rd thicc 6 against the Bengals. Make it three games in a row their defense looks dumb and slow.

This has actually never crossed my mind.

Mahomes has played a whole extra regular season and what's his record, like 15-3 in that "extra season"?

insane
