Tonight, I got to watch this game with my 3 youngest kids (daughter just turned 11, and my 2 youngest sons aged 13 & 16) to the end.
This was the most fun I've had since our tragedy. Football might just be a game, and it is... And we as fans get WAY too involved with "our team" - but for me and my kids, this game was cathartic. I got to sit back and say "I'm not worried, we have Mahomes" while my kids freaked out.
I'm sad to say I didn't really believe we'd win in OT. The team looked absolutely spent. Offense had just gotten kicked in the teeth. Defense looked gassed and lost.
When Mahomes hit that pass to D-Hop though, it was clear what was happening. :-) [Reply]

Condolences and I'm glad the Chiefs were able to give you that. I had a similar personal loss when my mom passed suddenly a few years back and watching her favorite team play each week (and later go on to win it all) was certainly a welcome distraction that year.
The pain does get easier to bear over time. [Reply]
