Tyreek was electric to watch for his speed. He was elite because he was the best in the game at tracking the ball down the field.

Worthy isn’t Reek, but he’ll get there. He can be useful. He’s already been useful.

Fuck guys can you quit your stupid bitching about rookie struggles for just one goddamn minute
Nobody is bitching. People are critiquing what they are seeing, because this is a message board where we discuss these things.

People don’t watch the replays often. That Kelce catch in the 2nd half where he was wide open was bc Worthy was roaring downfield and the safety covering Kelce pissed his pants bc Worthy was bolting.

Completely took that fucker out of the play and left Kelce wide ass open

You literally have a post in this very thread bitching about how we didn’t take Keon Coleman instead of Worthy

Right.

Again - this isn't a Skyy Moore situation where every time he's on the field I just groaned. Because he didn't provide anything. You were playing 10 v 11.

Worthy simply being out there helps this offense. There's genuine gravity with that guy where he helps his teammates find space. And that's valuable in its own right.

But lets not also act like we're not discussing "Hidden Touchdowns" here. Or that we haven't barbecued folks we don't like when the defenses of that guys play are as tepid as these can be.

He's struggled - full stop. Has that meant the pick hasn't helped us? No, not at all. But I really hoped we'd see more forward progress from him by now. And with the opportunities he's had, it's fair to point out that he really does seem stuck in neutral right now.

This is a rookie thing though. It’s mental and not ability. This is easy to fix

Now, so as to not COMPLETELY shit on Worthy here - I thought Mahomes was late on the throw.

That play happened right in front of us and man, you could see it break open almost immediately. As soon as that boundary corner gave up outside leverage, you could see Worthy had an easy pitch and catch for a score.

And for whatever reason it looked like PM hesitated. Typically on a play like that, by the time you notice the WR then look back to the QB, the QB is releasing the football. Patrick was still setting up and took even one extra hop on it. He was late on the throw and Worthy looked to try to be slowing down in the zone to keep that throwing window open.

If Mahomes hits that ball as soon as it breaks open, it's a far far FAR easier play for Worthy.

So while that's a bad mental error on Worthy's part, PM wasn't completely without blame. He acted like he just didn't trust what he was seeing because I'm telling you, that play was right in front of him and open from the jump. But for whatever reason, he just didn't let it rip.

Man.....this is bad.

The mental thing can sometimes be the toughest

I actually said I preferred Worthy due to how we run our offense but that Coleman was the better player just not suited for our offense.

But yeah we are here to give our opinions. I welcome all opinions even if dissenting.

I think if we run that play in the 2nd quarter (and definitely in the 2nd half) it's a TD.

Because lets also remember that on the next play, where PM got sacked, he had an EASY checkdown to hit. And again seemed to hesitate before he got decked up the middle to take us out of FG range.

Patrick seemed to be feeling his way a bit in that first drive. Just not quite as assertive as he was for the rest of the game. If he runs that play with the kind of confidence he played with in the 2nd half, there's little doubt in my mind that it's a TD.

He was damn good yesterday - as good as he's been this season, IMO. But on that first drive he seemed a hair tentative and that hurt us.
