And based on lessons learned in one such endeavor, yesterday I held up a big mirror to this thread and everybody in it. You don't have to agree with my conclusions of course, but one does wonder: Why am I not greeted with something somewhere in the ballpark of:

• Somebody claimed "the Super Bowl Era" is a more common era for statistical analyses than the "Post Merger Era". I said I'd look it up and I did. It seems the SB Era is favored when Super Bowls are the topic, But because scheduled interplay between all 28 teams began in Post-Merger Era, that's the more generally favored era
