Agreed.

It was nice to see a Tully exhibiting the wisdom that let them hold rule of the Riverlands for generations.

Not sure what crept into the bloodline between the Blackfish and Hoster's generation and Hoster's idiot kids (seriously, Lysa, Catelynn, and Edmure are a real trio of nincompoops), but I'm gonna guess it comes from the Whent bloodline Hoster married into.

Fuck all that. Book Edmure was a good dude. I’m not sure why the show decided to make him a bumbling idiot.

I mean, he’s not shrewd and no one would describe him as particularly intelligent, but he gives a hell of a lot more of a shit about the small folk than literally any of these other bitch ass nobles in the story and I can respect that.

And that may be precisely what Lord Tywin wants, Ned thoughts to himself, to bleed off strength from Riverrun, goad the boy into scattering his swords. His wife's brother was young, and more gallant than wise. He would try to hold every inch of his soil, to defend every man, woman and child who named him lord, and Tywin Lannister was shrewd enough to know that.

Hundreds of smallfolkhad been admitted to the castle, and allowed to erect crude shelters against the walls. Their children were everywhere underfoot, and the yard teemed with their cows, sheep, and chickens.

“Who are all these folk?”

“My people,” Edmure answered. “They were afraid.”

Only my sweet brother would crowd all these useless mouths into a castle that might soon be under siege. Catelyn knew that Edmure had a soft heart

Imagine if the US Government just went, "Fuck it, free F35's for anyone who doesn't get sucked into the turbine!"
