Yup. That brought an audible "Damn!" out of me the first time I saw it.
I knew Denis Villeneuve directed it, but I hadn't realized Taylor Sheridan wrote it. Talk about a power move in Hollywood, pairing those two together. [Reply]
Escaping the hot afternoon, my wife and I took in the matinee showing of Thelma
It was a really enjoyable movie, I laughed out loud (for real) several times. The story is of a grandma who gets scammed out of some money and decides she is going to get it back. The movie has a vibe somewhat like Little Miss Sunshine.
If you love your grandma you will like this movie. If you don't love your grandma you are probably a Raiders fan. [Reply]
Really enjoyed "The Long Game" on Netflix last night. I like Dennis Quaid
Spoiler!
It takes place in 1956 to start and right away they have a 58 Impala and 57 DeSoto convertible. I see this often and I guess accuracy here doesn't matter to most.

Netflix Land of Bad is AWESOME!
Thanks for the recommendation. I enjoy about anything with Russel Crowe and he appears to have been enjoying some mac&cheese and lots of pie. :-) [Reply]

It was better than I expected it to be, but even that said, it was pretty meh. It's an ok watch in the theater (and it might actually make it better with the immersive theater experience) but if you don't catch it there, you're not going to miss much waiting for it to hit streaming.
And I don't feel like I'm spoiling much by saying if that band of weather ever descended on this planet, people would automatically be calling it a Wrath of God type of event. It sort of took me out of the movie, but I knew what the movie was going to be, so it wasn't jarring. [Reply]
