Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

My point is, this season is the worst SEASON he's ever had to this point. Yes.

Due to injuries, the guy had Jabar Gaffney and Reche "bug eyed" Caldwell as his starting receivers. No one to lean on that year. Yet Brady was still able to engineer a comeback and beat an all-time powerhouse Chargers team on the road in the 2006 Divisional playoffs. They had Phyllis, LT, Antonio Gates, Merriman all in their prime.
This was the game where Patriots players were celebrating with the lights out dance on the Chargers field post game lol.
If Mahomes is to be held in GOAT conversation, he's got to elevate his teammates, which he has struggled to in recent seasons. Instead of needing players to lean on. Its getting more and more common in recent seasons that the Chiefs have won in spite of Patrick and the offence.
How about Left Tackle? From what I can find, Tom Brady had the same guy for 10+ years. Mahomes has had 4 different LT’s in 3 seasons. This is not a very good strategy for success.
But anyway, the season ain’t over. Considering what happened last year in the Playoffs, I think it’s way too early to write off Mahomes. [Reply]

Agreed.
Mahomes has put this team on his back in the playoffs over and over and yet folks forget that and are willing to write him off.
OL has serious problems at the tackle spots and can't get any push in short yardage situations in goal line situations. [Reply]
Yeah, I think we can all agree that Mahomes isn’t playing well by his standards.
But some of the compounding criticisms over the last few weeks are getting a little silly. Blaming Mahomes on a deep ball where Worthy had plenty of room to drag his left foot (at every level, they’re blaming the WR for missing a catchable ball), and suggesting that Mahomes should be able to to just mentally shake off having a constant threat of being obliterated from his blind side is not grounded in reality. Even Tom Brady would get mentally sped up the rare times he would face consistent pressure and lost trust in his line.
Through his career, Brady more often than not had a fantastic offensive line and defense with patchwork WR. Mahomes already showed he could win with that formula (great defense, a good IOL with mediocre tackles, and patchwork WR with Kelce). Mahomes showing he can flip a switch from mediocre play like this last season to winning a Super Bowl is why so many of us are going to push back at statements like “he sucks shit”, and lean in on the evidence that he’ll likely have it figured out by the playoffs. Mahomes has not been good by his standards but LT is seriously a problem. We just completely botched the position this offseason. We have Patrick fucking Mahomes, it’s time to go out and invest in a real LT. No more 2nd round projects and band aids. [Reply]
