It actually isn't a false narrative. Even up until a week ago when Clark was sprinting away with roty, you still had noise about co-roty and ESPN's ridiculous rankings. This is a convenient excuse for these gatekeepers to claim Reese would have had a shot if not for the injury. I actually wish she would have played out the season so they'd have to confront what they had done.
