If the Chiefs get the 2nd seed...they can likely rest their starters week 18. That game would be against the Donks...fighting for their post-season lives. If Denver were to win, they would play a rested KC the very next week @ Arrowhead. Two weeks to game plan in earnest while playing vanilla in the first meeting...Donks cant hold anything back.
Conversely, there is a chance the Ravens might be the lowest seed remaining after the first week of the play-offs. They would travel to the Bills. KC might see the Texans in week 2...
Bills lose to Ravens, KC gets HFA for the AFCCG...
Chiefs are in a good position to get a least some rest either way...obviously a first round bye is preferable but the 2nd seed might not be terrible either.

Tank the rest of the season to get the best draft picks possible next year. Then trade Mahomes & Chris Jones for many more draft picks. Fire Andy Reid and hire Deion Sanders & draft his kid as our new QB. It may take 3 or 4 years, but we're bound to get back to the playoffs at some point!

Sunday would be a great time to turn up the aggression and have a mentality that you need at least 28 points every week and attack defenses in that manner. Most weeks they probably won't need more than 21, but there is coming some times they definitely will.
I love Brett Veach and appreciate all he’s done for us so this is not by any means a shot at him.
The last 2 drafts have put us in this spot. The biggest issues are LT, the pass rush and depth at corner.
Felix looks like a bust relative to his draft position. Unfortunately Kingsley does too (though he is TBD). They missed badly on Kamal Hadden as he didn’t even make it through camp. Nazeeh Johnson is also struggling.
They’ve got Conner and Hicks from day 3 of the draft the last 2 years but not much else. I think Wanya has exceeded the expectations of a late 3rd rd pick but is still not a great pick.
It just shows how hard this league is. Small mistakes add up. You aren’t gonna .300 every year. Nobody does.
They hit a home run in the 2021 draft and then hit a grand slam in the 2022 draft but the last 2 drafts have been singles/doubles. Not bad by any means but they need more.
FWIW I think Rice and Worthy break out big time next year, so there’s good news there.
They have 3 draft picks in the top 66 picks and 4 in the top 100. They need to get guys that are talented, not developmental and can get on the field year 1. Guys like Bryan Cook, Leo Chenal, Jaylen Watson or Isiah Pacheco who can at least get on the field and be a decent starter year 1 instead of Skyy Moore’s.
Big offseason coming up
