Mahomes now 19th in QB rating. QB rating can be a fraud stat, but generally QBR isnt. 16th in QBR.

The defense is carrying this team so far this year, not Mahomes. It's ok to say it. He will get better as he always does and play well in big moments. But to act like he's been himself this year....you are just in denial.

I have two young children at home (older than his two). it's not easy being a dad and a functional adult sometimes, and he has another on the way (so do I). I'd imagine dad time is taking away from qb time a bit.

Stats can be misleading. CJ Stroud somehow got a grade of 78/100 in that Buffalo game, even though he tried to give the game away in the 4th quarter with 2 turnovers and an intentional grounding that dragged his team out of field goal range. He was extremely fortunate Buffalo failed to take advantage of his mistakes. The dude's QBR grade should have been no higher than 60/100 IMHO. Pretty good first half, terrible second half (ESPECIALLY the 4th quarter). The Texans had 13 drives. 8 of them ended in failure with 5 punts, an interception, a lost fumble by QB, and a failed 4th down attempt. Houston also had 2 field goals on VERY short drives because Buffalo gave the ball to them in great field position. It's not like they drove the whole field to get those 6 points.

By comparison, Mahomes was only graded 70/100 in the Saints game. He led the team on 8 long drives into scoring range. None of their drives started deep in Saints territory, so it's not like they got a bunch of freebie points like you occasionally see in other games. The Chiefs only had the ball 9 times when you exclude the kneel-downs at the end of the game. So you had 8 long drives in 9 attempts. That's a pretty strong game by the offense, and it doesn't happen if your QB is average. Looking at Houston and the Chiefs, the QBR grades on Stroud & Mahomes do not make any sense.

Another example. Josh Allen got away with 3 INT balls against Houston. 2 of them dropped by Houston defense, the other one bailed out by Josh's receiver committing an offensive pass interference. Meanwhile JuJu bobbles a very catchable ball and it turns into an end zone interception. The same receiver caught a much worse ball in the dirt from Mahomes later in the game.

Mahomes has not had any luck the last two seasons when it comes to this kind of stuff, and it's killing his passer rating/QBR. I'm watching other QB's get away with all kinds of BS, while he pays the price basically every time the ball is even slightly in danger. In the Playoffs last year, he had ONE bad throw in 4 freaking games and sure enough it ends up an interception. By comparison, Josh Allen got away with 2 turnover worthy plays on a single drive against KC (an INT dropped by KC, and a fumble that KC failed to recover). Brock Purdy got away with his fair share of BS in multiple Playoff games, etc.

I would be curious on the QB stats for turnover worthy plays the last 2 years.

Where does one find that at exactly?

Lines up with my post above. He is paying the price at a stronger rate than a lot of the other QB's. Watch other games and you see plenty of dropped INT's. It sure as shit seems the defenses are not giving Patrick any breaks the last 2 seasons. When they get a chance, they take full advantage of it. I think it lines up with the idea that Kansas City is THE Super Bowl for every team on the schedule.
