Trade: Chiefs are finalizing a deal to send franchise CB L’Jarius Snead to the Titans, per league sources.
Chiefs are expected to receive a 2025 3rd-round pick, in addition to a 2024 7th-round pick flop, while Snead will sign a new contract. Trade is pending physical for Sneed. pic.twitter.com/GWjyKAgxZq
Hell, Veach tried to sign Bolton and Smith in the off season, whose combined contract values would almost certainly exceed 30 million annually. But no, we can't afford Sneed because of reasons. We needed to pay an offball LB that's a liability in coverage and a very good G that is liable for a stinker or two per year. [Reply]

Chiefs defense against Slot targets this season (w/ league rank, per NextGenStats):
I was one of the few that would have rather paid Sneed than Jones, but that was me thinking with my Heart and not my brain. Chris Jones' holdout stunt last year missing Game 1 and sitting with his douche agents was a real turnoff.
Regardless, I think Chris Jones hasn't really been impactful this season, and the less I hear of him, the more I want Sneed. [Reply]

Well, Jaylen Watson stepped right in and we did not miss Sneed at all. Jones has been doubled, and nobody else can beat their man except for Karloftus every once in awhile. [Reply]
You could argue that the most missed departed defensive player from last year is Willie Gay, especially before the Watson injury.
The Chiefs LB's struggles to cover TE's, and struggling to stop Lamar and Josh Allen from scrambling (Gay was used a spy when the Chiefs played both QB's). [Reply]

Been sitting out for a month with a quad the team hoped he'd already be back from. Gonna guess he's not as keen to play hurt there as he would've been here since they're the dregs of the league. [Reply]

Or he could have an injury that he can’t play through and could be in the same situation here except eating a ton more cap space. [Reply]

That’s the attitude you want to give big money to? [Reply]

Sneed has played through multiple injuries here. Ankle, knee, and calf. Only missed 2 games in his Chiefs career, a personal issue and a week 18 where we sat most starters. [Reply]

Needs been banged up for the Titans too. He's played what 5 games this year? Would our record be any different? Nope. [Reply]
