So who would be a good Madden as I don't really see Ferrell as either.

As a young man who remembers the old AFL I hated that fat fuck along with Marv Hubbard. I don't even get why a movie needs to be made about him. I realize he mellowed as he went into the booth but he and Summerall bored me. It was a Sunday afternoon nap for me after out partying hard. Never been a gamer so Maddens football game never held any interest to me.

So what is it that makes him movie worthy? Enlighten me.

Reading more about this movie, the director focuses on the 60s and 70s his coaching years.

So it makes a little more sense on the acting choice. Madden as a couch wasn't anything like his folksy announcing days. As a coach, he was kind of an animated dickhead on the sideline. He coached up his players to inflict pain and cheap shots were a specialty.
