Nzoner's Game Room>Is it too early to start thinking about 2024?
TLO 07:23 PM 12-10-2023
I don't want to give up on this current squad, but I think the evidence is clearly there that this isn't a Super Bowl caliber team.

There's plenty of reason for optimism heading into next season.

What kind of cap room are we working with?

What free agent WR's are likely to be available?

Talk about it here.

Wasn't before but based on how the season has played out I lean towards keeping Sneed.

It's a passing league and that's a real valuable skillset.

Only way I move on is if we can acquire a #1 WR or pick high enough in the draft to grab one with that asset as the chip.
I agree.

Nope.

We are stuck with him if you look at the contract.

34 million dead cap next year doesn't work.

Next chance is after next year where its 9 million dead cap.

He's a starter next year.

They look drained. Like the 5 straight years of doing what they’ve done has just worn on them.

Whatever. Get to the playoffs and see what happens

Folks will hate me saying this but LT is a glaring problem and Donovan Smith isn't the answer here. He's older and getting hurt. I like Wanya Morris but he looked absolutely horrific yesterday. Not sure I want my faith in him.

They need to look at a LT in the first rd, which there are some quality ones in stock this year at first glance.

They can get WR's in FA to make an instant impact. You can't find a quality LT there. It's early but I'd go after some proven vet receivers, get your LTOTF and then draft another weapon in rd 2.

You don’t get plug and play Left Tackles late 1st round. You usually have to move up. Otherwise it’s just another athlete projection you could also find in 2nd or 3rd.

Yup leave him out there and see what happens. 3 games left. But man he was bad on Sunday. I guess everybody was bad though.

Wouldn't be surprised this off season if the Chiefs move Taylor to LT and have him work there and put Morris back at RT. I bet they'll definitely play around with that in training camp and/or preseason.

To be fair, the late 2023 Chiefs did not look like a Super Bowl squad. The 2024 Chiefs on the other hand.

Good time to bump this. Lot of the same energy as this thread lingering around this week
